Kärcher Center Hydraquip manager Juan
Ramirez says the new purpose-built 700sqm
facility in the Caterbury region will be a
“hub for the South Island”, providing a
regional base for sales and servicing.
The centre is the fourth Kärcher Center
in the key regions of New Zealand making
it the first country to have national
Kärcher presence. Other Kärcher centres
include Auckland (head office), Hamilton
The new facility incorporates the latest
Kärcher inspired 280sqm showroom
design, along with the South Island’s
largest service repair centre.
“We’re really proud and really excited
about the new facility,” Ramirez said.
“In ter ms of total size, this would have
to be the second largest facility in New
Zealand but the showroom and workshop
areas would be largest [based on square
meterage],” he explained.
The previous showroom was 36sqm,
however, the new centre has been increased
to 250sqm. The previous workshop was
11sqm and has now been significantly
extended to 400sqm.
The centre will
also be a hub for
“We do have a
quite a number
of service agents
the country, and
they’ll be able to
use this base as
a training area,
rather than going
“We have the
ability to do
and have three
well as one sales
showroom rep here.”
Ramirez said the new Kärcher Center
aligns with Kärcher’s global vision including
its strategy to have a greater retail focus.
“I think this [footprint] is exactly what
Kärcher is looking to do – Kärcher want
to have more centres that are more retail
focused, where people can see what we
have on offer, but not only that also offering
services [in-store] as well as sales.
“It’s a space that allows us to showcase all
our product lines.”

Total Dispensing Solutions (TDS) is set to launch
a range of new products including detachable
dispenser modules, lockable cabinets and a
technology platfor m that will enable customers
to monitor dispenser systems remotely.
Sydney-based TDS provides automatic
dispensing solutions for cleaning and
hygiene chemicals, as well the management
of the dispensing program, across Australia
and New Zealand, mainly in institutional,
hospitality and food and beverage.
TDS is also partnered with nine key
manufacturers from around the workd
including Seko, Macnaught and Gilmour.
Vince Neal, managing director of TDS,
told INCLEAN the technology platform is in
constant evolution and is focused on making
customers “proactive versus reactive”.
“The technology that we’re going
to have available soon is to help our
customers be more proactive versus
reactive,” said Neal.
The platform, which Neal said is currently
being actioned by TDS’ partners in
Europe, monitors the dispensers and sends
notifications via text and email to the user
when the dispensers are operating out of
their programmed parameters.
“We want to provide a cost effective
solution to monitor the key functions of the
dispenser so that if there is a problem, or a
potential problem, it will notify the supplier
and the customer instantly.”
Neal said TDS is also working to approach
the market with “scalability”.
“If you look at the market, like any
industry, there are different tiers within
it. What we’re working on is to build a
platform, a base platform that customers
can build upon – so it can offer a basic
account, a mid-level account as well as more
advanced integrated system for both software
TDS’ dispenser units are able to be
connected and detached from one another,
allowing users to add-on modules as
required. The company has also developed
lockable cabinets for the dispensing systems
“A lot of customers have their chemical
concentrate in racks but there’s cases, where
for many different reasons, facilities want
TDS plans to heavily target the
commercial laundry sector this year, and has
as many as 70 new products in the pipeline.
“Last year we launched a new product
every month except over the holiday period,
and this year we have about 70 new products
ready to go.”
