Kärcher releases lithium-ion battery vacuums
The launch of Kärcher's lithium-ion battery
technology vacuum cleaners will help building
service contactors and cleaners improve both
cleaning productivity and effciency, says Kärcher.
The T9/1 Canister and BV5/1 Back Pack
lithium-ion battery operated vacuums are
suitable for use in retail, hospitality and
transport environments. Optimal applications
include dry vacuuming of hard and soft foors,
stairways, buses, offces, shopping malls,
restaurants and cinemas.
The lithium-ion batteries contain 40 per cent
more specifc energy than common batteries
and are also lighter in weight.
"The batteries also provide more consistent
delivery of power throughout the battery run
time, as compared to the older NiCad format
where the power drop off was considerably more
noticeable as the battery charge decreased
during use," said Kärcher.
The battery pack vacuums also have an
eco!effciency mode for reduced energy
consumption and longer running times. In
eco!effciency mode, run time is around 46
minutes. With the additional back up batteries,
the vacuum can run continuously.
"The battery vacuums have a sturdy design
yet are compact and fexible to use with a low
operating noise, so are ideal for noise sensitive
areas. As they are cordless, there are no power
leads to potentially trip over resulting in lower
health and safety risks. Additional maintenance
costs also reduce as the risk of a power cord
being inadvertently tugged from the machine
no longer becomes an issue."
